This is by far the best restaurant in the Redford area. The restaurant is clean and decor is up to date. The owner actually recommended what to eat being a first timer. I will be telling everyone I know to eat here. Healthy, fresh, and delicious. My new favorite place.

Been here 3 times in the past month and have to say they have really delicious Pho! The broth has been consistently good and they always give you Thai basil, unlike other places that skimp in this necessity. Very friendly staff and cool sometimes eclectic jazz tunes playing. Hope they remain lucky and are around for a long time!

To be honest, I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. Hubby and I ventured out during a post-Christmas winter storm for something non-turkey to eat. Found Pho Lucky on Yelp, and decided to give it a shot. We eat a fair amount of pho and bun at home, and were suitably impressed with Pho Lucky's versions. Super friendly owner who seemed to delight in introducing locals to the concept of pho. My belly is nice and warm now. Half a star off for the limtied menu and extremely limited veggie options (like, none). But give them a try if you want something lighter than Chinese and different from Thai.

Great food, and even better service. The owner is proud of his product, and sells it well. We had a great meal: summer rolls and the P4. Coffee with milk on ice was delicious, and he was passing around samples of an avacado smoothie of some sort...it was delicious! Will be back...

I drove out to Pho Lucky today. The place is exactly as pictured in the photos, the tables and bathroom are both clean, and the two girls waiting tables were very nice and friendly. That said, to those who compared this Pho to places in the Madison Heights area, I disagree. Or maybe some here haven't visited the best Pho in Madison Heights (and metro Detroit). If your curious, I reviewed the place, so look back on my reviews. The menu at Pho Lucky is VERY limited. They do not offer any type of seafood soup, or any seafood at all, with the only exception being the shrimp in the fresh/fried rolls. Tofu is offered, but only fried, not steamed. Those who are vegetarians, don't waste your time. I believe the fresh rolls are your only option (with shrimp). The Pho itself was just so so, I've had better several times. I really wanted to like this place! I respect the girls who were so nice, and its great that someone finally is offering Pho on the west side. But there are far better places.

I had been wanting to try this for a while. Went on Sunday afternoon around 2pm for a late lunch. The (small) place was packed, and the parking lot full. The menu is very limited to the Pho noodle soup and a couple of rice dishes, but everyone had a large bowl of Pho in front of them, so that's what we had. A P3 and P4 with spring rolls. I like beef, not interested in "tripe and tendons", I've had that at a Korean restaurant and it was repulsive. I had expected the broth to be spicy, but it was little more than hot water with little flavor. It needs the Hoisin and Siracha provided at the table to give it some meaningful flavor. The beef was tender and tasty, the vegetables and noodles sublime. It was good, but it 's a lot of soup for one sitting.

Second time for us and I confess I held my breath. We ordered takeout instead of eating in and after I got it home I was so hungry for it, yet I was afraid too, afraid that it would not measure up to what I remembered it to be, 2 weeks before. So many times I have revisited a restaurant after experiencing a wonderful meal only to have it not be as good as I remembered. Well, I didn't have to worry this time! The pho was just as good if not better the second time! The people there are super friendly and have a wicked sense of humor as well. I was happy to see that the restaurant was full. I look forward to eating here for years to come.

I posted a review before, but it seems to be lost somewhere in yelp land. :) I had never had pho before I went to Pho Lucky. Had no idea of what it was. I soon found out quickly. WOW! This place is amazing! Upon entering the very modestly sized restaurant, my husband and I took a table and looked around a bit unsure of what to expect. We looked at the menu which primarily features pho (to me, this is good because if you're good at something, you dont need to muddy up the menu with other half-assed items) there are a few rice & noodle dishes. Our waitress approached the table to take our order. We explained that we had never had pho before. She was kind, patient and extremely helpful in explaining everything. I chose P4 and we also got a noodle dish to split. Our food arrived quickly. Piping hot and very aromatic accompanied by a plate with fresh bean sprouts, lime wedges, fresh jalapenos & basil. Our waitress explained how we could use them to add to the soup It was delicious! Even without those things, the flavors were vibrant and fresh. The portions are huge and VERY reasonably priced The owner stopped by our table to greet us. So friendly & approachable, as is the rest of the staff. When we told him that we had never had Vietnamese food before, he brought out a summer roll for us to try. AMAZING. Another must try! Since the first time we visited in January, we have been back at least once a week...sometimes twice a week. I find myself craving it. The food and the service is just as amazing as it was on our first visit. This place is a -must- try!!! Parking lot is small, but there is an insurance agency lot next door that allows overflow

This place is amazing! The pho is absolutely delicious, the summer rolls are to die for, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing that I could possibly fault them for is they need more seating ... At peak times there is a significant line. This is one of my favorite restaurants!

Excellent authentic cuisine. We had a large Pho original. It was Very large and Dee-licious! We had the C2 with pork chop and C3 which was grilled beef. The food was fresh and flavorful. I topped off my meal with a Vietnamese iced coffee. It was strong and sweet. Definitely something you sip not guzzle. The service was fast and friendly. The owner brought my coffee and gave me pointers on the best way to drink it. Sure to come again, next time in Michigan.

Growing up in Orange County California in the heart of Little Saigon, Pho is something I really crave and until now had a hard time finding in Michigan. Not only have I found it here, but it is as good as any I have ever had. Super friendly staff, good prices, and most importantly - EXCELLENT Pho and spring/summer rolls. If you have not had Pho - plan on it !! Do be intimidated, these guys are great and will teach you the ins and outs of the Vietnamese coffee, Pho, whatever. I will certainly be back. Over and over again

Very happy with this little place! Parking is a little tough but I can always park by the cvs behind it . The food , I'm not a fan or tendons or tripe so I get the P4! They taste so good !! If you have the chance, try their durian shake , it is beyond amazing . It may be a little too sweet but very good and tasty. Their coffee is off the shelf ! Much better than any Starbucks drink you will ever have , it's a small volume but very good and bold tasting . I felt as if I was back overseas having a cup of hainanese coffee!

I don't pretend to be a pho expert. But I've made the drive to delicious places in Ann Arbor, Sterling Heights, and Detroit and it's always been a meal I enjoy. This place sets the gold standard, from my experience. The broth is amazingly delicious, they do NOT skimp on veggies and meat in the dishes, and the portions are impressive. The owner (manager?) was polite and made sure our meal was perfect, and that was on top of an already delightful server. From now on when I want pho, I will save myself the long drives to other parts of Southeast Michigan and enjoy the best of the best a hop skip a jump away from my house.

There wasn't a place to sit at 12:20 on a Wednesday when I arrived, always a good sign in my opinion. Servers were extremely welcoming and I got a seat in less than a minute . I ordered a Pepsi and the Pho with beef and meatballs. It arrived before I could finish 2 WWF plays, and was piping hot. I ordered regular not large, which still could feed 2 average eaters. I confess, I added a tiny bit of salt and pepper which made the broth perfect. I ate at the Pho Lucky in Redford and I thought the broth a little lacking flavor. Here it definitely was more robust. Can't beat the service here, and I loved the Pho. I'll be back.

Like the other reviewer, I guess I'm spoiled by the pho scene in and around Boston. The pho here barely has any toppings other than thinly slice onions, the pho is served stuck to each other, well-cooked pho or any soup noodles should never be served stuck together. The "rare beef slices" was tough and chewy. And definitely not rare. Soup was hot so that's good. They give you jalapeÃ±o slices so that's good too if you like spicy. They have a crazy pho competition where you have to finish something like 5lbs of beef and 2 lbs of pho or something. $20. Very cool! I didn't appreciate that the owner acts like he doesn't care he has customers, he just glanced at us and scowled when we told him we wanted a table for 2. Then proceeded to hog the table at one end of the restaurant and chatted to his friends/relatives. He didn't even bother to tell his servers that we've been sitting there without menus for a while. Uhm. Alright.

Are you able tell that I love a good bowl of Pho? Just look at my pic :) Being originally from Redford, I have been telling my parents to check out the new "Pho place". As a current resident of Troy, Madison Heights is so close that I feel spoiled to have so many noodle houses to pick from. Pho Lucky definitely tops the list in service and quality. We had the summer rolls which were delicious and my father even scooped out the remaining sauce. I thought he was going to lick the sauce bowl. For our entrees, we had Pho and was left feeling full and happy. There two sizes for the Pho, regular and large. I got the regular and felt like it was the perfect amount. We will be returning with the whole family very soon.

Amazing food, I felt that it was prepared very clean even though the place may look a little sketchy. 100% my new go to! the regular size is HUGE you'll barely finish half of it. Meals can be purchased for under $10 if your trying to conserve your money :)

Tried the pork rice platter (com suon) along with a iced coffee for lunch. The serving size was just right; not too heavy but still filling. Service was friendly and they constantly checked up on you to make sure you didn't need anything. Good for lunch but nothing to be hyped out. There seems to be a pho challenge at this restaurant as well for anyone feeling up to the challenge!

I took my sister out to lunch here after reading all the good reviews. At first sight I was thinking maybe I'd made a mistake, but I'm glad we decided to stay and give the place a try. I ordered the P4 (the waiter's suggestion) and spring rolls. I enjoyed every bit of it! I could've eaten a couple orders of the spring rolls with that delicious garlic sauce! The restaurant was very small, like about the size of my living room, but I didn't care at all. I would definitely go back again, but maybe order carryout next time. The waiter was very friendly! I wish I could get that kind of friendly service at every restaurant I go to!!! Love, love, love this place!

This place rocks. Even the staff rocks as well. Food taste so delicious. Me and my partner ate here like a week ago and we just went back for some more today. We always get the P6. You can't go wrong and I am a picky eater when it comes to other cuisines. I'm hooked on Pho. :)

I enjoyed the rare beef Pho, the soft Summer rolls, and Ken's order of Lemongrass Chicken with that addictive sweet garlic sauce. Their iced coffee makes your eyelids snap open (and stay open). My wife saw an ad for Pho Lucky in a Japanese newspaper. We've lived in Redford forever, but didn't realize there was this hidden gem here for close to 2 years. We went there today and LOVED it. The waitresses and owner were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was incredible and the prices were nice. We got a summer roll and 2 bowls of soup and the bill came out less than $20. The owner came up and educated us on ways to eat the soup with a couple of the sauces they have on the tables. The orangish / red sauce was SPICY. I decided to stick with the dark brown sauce. I had the Pho soup #4 on the menu and my wife had their #1 choice. We were stuffed just with their regular size. We will go back again. Our friends in the Novi area will be excited to hear they are opening a location there on 7-7-14.

I've been the to Farmington Hills location a few times and have been wanting to try the original location. It's also conveniently across the street from Randazzo and a Chinese grocery store which were good incentives for driving all the way out to Redford. There isn't much parking so we parked across the street at Walgreen's. The restaurant is much smaller and older. The menu is the same as the other location so we ordered our usual P1s with no tendon. It was tasty but the broth was not steaming hot and got cold within minutes. I love the summer rolls and we ordered some for our table. The waitstaff isn't as attentive but you can ask to get your waters filled and for additional orders.

First of all, let me apologize for being that girl from Seattle who is spoiled with lots of really good pho. The service here was very friendly, but slow. I'm used to pho coming out almost right away (it's really not that complicated) but today we waited about 15 minutes for our pho to come out, and the noodles were one big clump at the bottom of the bowl (though not too raw, which is good). I ordered P1, the house special, which comes with tendon. At first I couldn't find the tendon, but soon discovered that it comes in big clumps, not my preference, but oh well. I tore it up into smaller pieces with my fingers. The broth was good. Good flavor, but not remarkable. Then after the meal, I think the servers may have forgotten about us. Because we waited for a while for attention, then set our credit card on the edge of the table, still nothing. I watched as the tables that came in after us got their checks, and were able to leave before us. Finally when I stood to take my payment to them myself, we were noticed and helped quickly. Not a big deal, it happens sometimes. They were friendly enough. All in all, I think if this restaurant was in Seattle it wouldn't have such great reviews. But if you live in Michigan and you've eaten here, I'd say that you've had some good pho.

Pho and summer rolls were awesome- particularly the summer rolls, but I was off of work for 2 days with food poisoning and my boyfriend was as well. We both had pho so it must've been that. I am actually really sad I will never be able to have their summer rolls again... will have to find a new place.

My flight was canceled and had to drive back up Telegraph to get back to the office. I figured it was a good chance to find something new to try. I got lucky on Yelp. Pho Lucky. It's a great place for Pho. As any Pho hunters out there would know, Pho restaurants are typically not in very upscale digs. This is no exception. It's a very no-frills place on Joy Rd and Telegraph. 99% of the crowd when I was there were Asians. Guess they are also seeking good noodles too. The place has about 10 tables in the dining room. When I was there, it was mostly full. I ordered an XL bowl of Pho with the rare beef. It's not rare by the time it gets to you since it cooks in the broth. The beansprouts were snappy and fresh. The mint was also very fragrant and fresh. Both of those are served with lime and some peppers on the side. It provides some freshness to the soup. The broth was very nice. Not heavily flavored, but well done. I also had spring rolls. It was nice and hot. They were made with minced meat inside. Not sure it would be on my next order since it wasn't that flavorful and felt more like things to hold sweet sauce so you can enjoy the sauce. If I had to find areas to improve, it would be the meat ratio in the noodles. There was a nice layer of meat on the noodles, but the XL had lots more noodles than beef. Also, there is a limited menu. It had a 2 appetizers, a few varieties of Pho and a few entrees. Overall, it's a great Pho place on this side of town.

If this were my first experience, I would have given higher as nothing to compare too Summer rolls-needs less noodles, more herbs veggies with the pork/ shrimp The B2 bit buhn...w / noodles pork /fish sauce ----- I'm use to more herbs- thin slices of cucumbers and slivers of carrot - the pork wasn't as flavorful bbqu'ed , grilled as I've experienced. The slices were thick and occasionally tough. The sauce was bland. Tasted watered down. The dish wasn't horrible, but there should have been a ton of flavors popping with an abundance of different flavors and it wasn't...don't get me wrong, overall the food was good and if I can't get to MH, this will fit the bill. Next week, I'm going for the pho which seems to be the it thing to try.

Let it be known, I've been on a hunt for the perfect bowl of pho for the past 2 years, and I believe I've found it. My wife (who's never had pho), my 2 year old daughter, and I stopped by on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away, but it looked like we arrived just in time, as the tables quickly filled after our arrival. My wife ordered the pho with round steak; I ordered the original with everything: round steak, meatballs, tendon, and tripe; and we ordered the spring rolls. Let me say, I was in heaven from the first bite. My wife became an instant pho junkie. My daughter didn't love the spring rolls, a fact quickly noticed by the owner, who is funny, personable, and visits every table. She brought some rice and FIXED A PLATE for my daughter, which blew me away. Do come here if you want the best pho in the Detroit area and happen to enjoy excellent service. Everything is made fresh, including the lemonade, and is pretty epic!

I quite like this place! We were in Dearborn one afternoon and my husband had me look up some food on Yelp. Luckily I have a ton bookmarked, but 100% of those bookmarks in this area have everything to do with shoarma, falafel or toum. "Try Vietnamese!'. Ummm. Sure? Turns out Pho Lucky has been on my radar for ever (and in my bookmarked section), but my geographical knowledge of Metro Detroit is still in its infant stages. Happy to have found Vietnamese fare nonetheless we made the short drive to Redford. I have a bad (?) habit of judging a book by its cover, and was happily surprised I was proven wrong here. The area (or at least the way we drove to the place) is less than stellar, but the actual restaurant completely made up for that. The minute you walk in the smell of beefy, wonderful pho hits you. Let me tell you, it was glorious. The dining room is open, bright and clean and so is the bathroom. I am convinced a little elf scurries in after each 'visit' because it is spotless. Now unfortunately I majorly miss out on the pho front which sucks, phosho. I did however order another favorite; bun thit nuong only with tofu. The tofu was fried, but it was well-fried which is important. It was not oil-logged or gross, and the actual tofu was of the firm kind (not silken). My husband ordered bun thit nuong with grilled pork. It smelled very good, and was well enjoyed. Pho Lucky does not include cucumber or carrots in this dish and our bean sprouts were missing (mistakenly so, I believe) but whatever, I did not miss them one bit (the carrots and cukes that is, the beansprouts I asked for). The pork itself was kindof fatty, which seems indicative of Vietnamese food everywhere so be careful to remove this if you are not a fan. The menu is indeed small, there are a handful of pho options (no vegetarian and no fish varieties but bfd, beef is the way to go anyways), three listed noodle choices (grilled pork, beef or chicken) and three broken rice choices with aforementioned meats. They made me a vegetarian summer roll which was sweet and accomodating, and the regular summer roll with pork and shrimp was enjoyed by E. These puppies are large, by the way. We will absolutely be back, this place feels a lot closer to our neck of the woods than the cluster of Vietnamese restaurants on the East side- and the food and customer service is great!

A coworker at my last job suggested that we visit Pho Lucky one day for lunch. Turned out that they are closed on Tuesday and it just happened to be a Tuesday. We went somewhere else and I didn't think about it again until about 4 months later when my husband and I were out searching for somewhere to eat outside our usual haunts. We passed Joy Road and it clicked! I turned around and pulled into Pho Lucky...despite the serious look of doubt on my husband's face. I told him about my friend's review and encouraged him to take this adventure with me, as he continued to look dubious from the other side of the car. Then I remembered Yelp. I quickly looked it up and read him the first five reviews. He got all starry-eyed, as did I, and we went in. We will never be sorry. It's a tiny little dive of a place, only in that it is small and the decor is dated. Do not mistake the term for anything else. This place is clean, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back and depending on the night, even fun! After our first time, we vowed to go back frequently, and we found ourselves craving it if we went too long without. Now, we have settled into a regular routine of Pho Fridays. Not only do they know us and treat us well, but they know what we order and are considerate enough to ask if we want the usual or to try something new. We are constantly taking friends there to "broaden their horizons", culinarily speaking, and they never disappoint. The owner always comes over and says funny things, tells stories, explains how the Pho is made and the work that goes into it, and hows all the different ways you can eat it. You can tell he loves what he does, and he loves to share it with others. My favorite thing is going and discovering that some silly person has decided to take the Pho Challenge. There is a HUGE bowl on the counter by the cash register that has a sign on it that says FREE PHO. It holds the equivalent of 5 large bowls of Pho. IF you eat all the meat and noodles in it, you get it for free. (You don't have to eat all the broth) It never fails, some young guy coaxes his friend into taking the challenge along with him, and before long we are watching the fellow chopstickfuls of noodles and meat into their mouths in a frenzy. I have yet to see anyone actually finish. SO ENTERTAINING! Everything about this place is everything I love about mom and pop businesses, from being recognized as a "regular" to the avocado smoothies, to the little guava hard candies you get after your meal...this place is tops! If you haven't tried it...do.

Awesome! Best pho and Vietnamese food in Metro Detroit. They want you to feel at home and you do! Service and food is wonderful. The broth is flavorful but not salty. The meats are quite tasty and served just right. Prices are awesome! Portions are great. Small place with several tables and basic seating. When I was there someone was explaining to a pho beginner how to eat and customize her pho to her liking. The menu is diverse but concise and includes many Vietnamese items other than pho. If you're feeling daring you can try the pho challenge and try and eat this humungous bowl of pho in an hour-good luck-it's huge! Always steady and rightfully so. A must go and definitely a destination place!

Pho Lucky is one of those unexpected hidden gems. Clearly, the owners take pride in their restaurant, the inside is simply decorated and clean, the service staff are helpful and kind, and the food is delicious. While a little complicated, we ordered our pho to go- which means you get one large styrofoam bowl of broth (kindly sealed in a plastic bag) and a styrofoam platter that contains noodles, meat, onions, bean sprouts, jalapenos, scallions, cilantro, lime, sauce, and a sprig of basil leaves. You have the option of ordering regular or large- and the regular size was big enough! I played it safe and ordered the P2, which comes with just rare eye round steak (don't worry, pho virgins, the piping hot broth will gently cook the meat!). Michael was feeling adventurous and ordered P10, which includes cooked flank steak, rare eye round, and TENDON (he made me try it... it just isn't my cup of tea). We also ordered summer rolls (the unfried version of spring rolls). Before I left, staff were sure to give me instructions to properly assemble my soup- get a giant bowl (we used serving bowls... seriously!) and place noodles in the bottom, covered by the meat. place desired veggies around the bowl, and after heating the broth to near boiling, pour the entire container of broth over the meat. Make sure to separate the layers of thinly sliced beef so they cook evenly! I really loved the broth- it was incredibly complex and rich. Thank you, Pho Lucky, for bringing Vietnamese comfort food to Redford!

Made it back, pho mo..Pho. was good but sadly not as good as my memory of the brief glimpse of culinary delite I experienced last time. All in all I got more then I paid pho. Good food, good conversation with the lovely waitresses and an explanation of the delicious spring rolls. My tip, if you go to an "ethinic" restaurant and you see the "natives" eating there, It's a good sign, if you don't then stay away. So Go to Pho Lucky and tell'em Jaiart sent you. Actually once I let it sit the flavors melded and it was just as delicious as I remembered it from the 1st time. Also if you love it hot, try it cold. Still every bit as delicious. Next I will try the other menu items.

Really cute little place. Spring rolls were delicious! I could've ordered way more if I wasn't so stuffed with pho. I got the p4 and it was great and very filling but not overly disgustingly filling. I mixed some pepper, lime and sriracha in with it as well as sprouts and made it even better. They give you a pretty big portion and I had a lot left over to take home. It's very decently priced as well. I'll definitely be coming back.

Some of the best pho I've had, and the Vietnamese iced coffee is to die for (or from). Don't go expecting a full Vietnamese menu, because it's limited to mostly pho, but that just means they do it right. I never leave this place unhappy or with an empty stomach. Too bad I don't live near this place. I was in town visiting a friend and we decided to go for Vietnamese. My first experience here was definitely a delicious one. It's a little small and the wait was a bit long, but I guess that was due to quite a few diners coming in. I got their P2 pho and it definitely hit the spot for my craving. The waiter and waitress were really friendly. The place was kept clean and the design of their set up is really modern. Definitely looking forward to going here again.

Stopped here on a family visit to Michigan. Got the pho with rare beef to go. The broth had a few more spices than most pho I've had, including a spice I couldn't put my finger on, that was a bit overwhelming for me. The serving was plentiful as were all the mix-ins. The service, even for pick-up, was great! I ate most of the mix-ins but just left the excess broth and ended up full and satisfied.

P1 is the classic way to go, but I found myself ordering a vermicelli bowl last visit and was not disappointed. On top of great food our wait staff have always been fantastic and handles groups of 7+ very well. Dont expect a wait of more than ten minutes after ordering for your food, they are lighting fast.

We were randomly in Melvindale and gave the Yelp app a spin. There's a Vietnamese restaurant outside of Madison Heights, and it's good? Score! They have Pho and Grilled meat with rice. I had P1, friend had P4, + summer rolls and ice coffee. Summer rolls came with two dishes of sauce (no double dipping was a nice touch). Pho came with legit sprouts, basil and lime. Clean bottles of sriracha, hoisin and chili sauce. (This is not common in similar restaurants, so I considered this a bonus!) The broth was good, 'nuf said ;) Staff was so friendly and gave me lots of info on hot to make my own Vietnamese coffee. Affordable, delicious and CLEAN. Coming back and bringing friends :D

Tucked into a tight little retail area, this special place provided us a great meal. A limited menu serves up the basics of Vietnamese food. Service is friendly and warm - something we have not always found in our visits to Mom and Pop Vietnamese restaurants. The food was substantial and good. Large amounts of fresh food. Our only complaint was the quality of the meat was a little low. Some was tough, and some was fatty. The Pho was good but missing a little something - not sure what. The Gui cuon spring rolls were good, but missing something as well (lemongrass? mint leaf?). There is a definite need for Vietnamese restaurants in the Detroit area. The best selection remains in Windsor. But Pho Lucky will fit the bill for a closer need for Vietnamese.

We were craving Vietnamese but didn't want to drive all the way to Madison Heights so we thought we'd try Pho Lucky, which is conveniently located just off of Telegraph. Since it was our first visit we wanted to try everything so we ordered Summer Rolls, Spring Rolls, House Special Pho, the Chicken rice plate, and the Pork vermicelli plate. The Summer Rolls were ample sized, plenty of fillings that included whole peeled shrimp and served with a sweet rice vinegar sauce. The Spring Rolls were crunchy, juicy and flavorful - definitely not your typical "egg roll" filling. The House Special Pho had thinly sliced beef, meat balls, tripe, innards and vermicelli. Bean sprouts, basil, peppers and lime were served on the side. The broth was rich with a strong lemongrass bite. The chicken and rice plate had perfectly cooked rice, delicious chicken and cucumber. The pork vermicelli had sliced pork, noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts and crushed peanut. Everything was fresh, delicious, and filling. We went on a Thursday night around 7:45pm and there was 2 other patrons but the small shop quickly filled up. When we first arrived, and things were less busy, our food came out at a good pace, but once the kitchen got busy the pho was delayed a bit. It wasn't a hugely unreasonable amount of time so it wasn't an issue for us but might be to others. Our server was friendly and removed empty plates quickly. The (avocado) shakes are thick, creamy and amazing. The iced coffee with milk is thick and strong, but not nearly big enough for a big iced coffee fan like myself. The coconut water was refreshing and cold. Overall, Pho Lucky is worth a trip to Redford for and we will definitely come back! Oh, and while the shop is small, we had three children with us and others had children as well so it is family friendly and there is enough room when it completely full. We love Pho Lucky!

I'm so excited to have finally found an excellent Vietnamese restaurant nearby to get my pho fix very so often, so I no longer have to drive 45 minutes away each way for it. I can honestly say, I'm not settling for anything subpar just so I can get some pho, Pho Lucky is totally legit. The spring rolls were fresh and I love that the dipping sauce has a whole bunch of minced garlic in it. My husband and I both love garlic, so to get garlic in the dipping sauce when we weren't expecting it is like finding money in your back pocket when you didn't know it was there. Since I like to compare apples to apples, I got the House Special Pho, with the raw steak, cooked steak, meatballs, tripe, and tendon. The broth was what sold me on the authenticity of the restaurant. Although there was a lot of noodles, there was also plenty of meats/toppings. They apparently have one of those eating challenges where you'd get a picture put on a Hall of Fame/Hall of Shame type thing on the wall pending on if you win or not. I didn't have the privilege to observe such a spectacle on this visit, but I am hoping to see one eventually. As we were leaving the Manager told us they're opening a branch about 3 miles away from my office starting 7/7. Sweet!!!

It's not fair that I'm giving this place only four stars, it really deserves five. Unfortunately, I cannot stop comparing to my mother's Pho. I frequent this place since it's pretty close to where I work. The owners here really know what they're doing. Right when you walk in, the aroma seduces you and you're already hooked. The tantalizing fragrance will have your mouth watering before you even sit down. The simple and easy to follow menu captures the very essence of Vietnamese cuisine - perfection through a labor of love. With every piece of food I bite into I'm taken back to my parents' dining table, eager to take the next bite. Everything tastes the way it should taste - fantastic. I have an almost orgasmic experience every time I'm there. With every sip of ca phe sua da I drink I'm immediately filled with elation. You don't have to go to Houston for good Pho anymore, Pho Lucky has brought Vietnam to Michigan.

I have been eyeing up this place every time I stop next door at Joy View Market. And finally, I was there right at lunch time with a hungry belly. As soon as I entered, I was greeted warmly and asked if I had been there before. Being a newbie, I was given a tutorial by the owner who shared with me the proper way to assemble Pho (which is their specialty). He seemed very proud of the fact that they were written up in Hour magazine and used it as a photo guide when explaining. I had no problem assembling it when I arrived home since I wasn't able to eat in. I have to say, I am now a fan of Pho! The broth was very light but had a wonderful flavor. And the noodles soak up the broth as you eat. I added some hoisin and Sriracha too for extra kick. Really really good!

We decided to give this restaurant a try since it had so many great reviews, and we were in the area. We went on a Sunday afternoon--it really is a tiny place, with only about ten tables and diagonal parking along one wall. We ordered P1, a regular bowl of pho with "everything" (i.e., meatballs, thinly sliced brisket, tendons, and tripe). The noodles were perfect and the veggies/herbs (bean sprouts, sliced jalapenos, and Thai basil) were fresh. The lime slices were super juicy! (I hate it when pho restaurants give you dry pieces of lime.) I thought the broth itself was good enough--probably not the most flavorful compared to my all-time favorite place in Lake Tahoe, but definitely better than what I can make at home. We also ordered the summer rolls, egg rolls, and grilled pork w/ rice. They were all good (not great but not bad either). I'm used to having Thai iced tea, and they didn't offer it. :( A plus--the owner stopped by our table and joked with my 8-year-old about playing with her food (which she was). I really appreciated her friendly demeanor and would definitely go back to support a local mom-and-pop operation. From the wall of photos in the back, it appears that you can earn a t-shirt for eating a super duper large bowl of pho... there are definitely more failed attempts than successes!

I woke up, hungover as all hell, and I was craving the Pho I haven't has since I lived in Seattle, and on scouring Yelp, I found this place close to home. So I got my still slightly inebriated ass into my car and drove to Pho Lucky, parked, and walked inside. The atmosphere was exactly what I expected, which was a breath of fresh air. The walls had your basic, small venue trinkets, and there was music playing lightly. The tables and chairs were basic, but did the job. Nothing wow, just.. meeting expectations. I ordered the #2 with just the beef, and a Coke. The Coke was served with your standard small asian restaurant presentations. A glass of ice and a can - so expecting refills was redundant. When the meal came out, the bowl was huge (standard Pho size, but since it had been a while, I was still surprised by it), and the veggies on the side were all very, very fresh. The server asked if I knew how to finish personalizing/preparing my dish, and though I did, I said no (in case I could learn something new). The pointed out the Housin Sauce, veggies, etc.. all as expected, and I said thank you. On trying the Pho plain (before I added anything), it had almost no seasonings added, which was unlike the shops I had been to in Seattle and San Francisco. It was just boiled water, veggies, and meat. I wound up adding a lot of housin, a tinge of sriracha, and a generous helping of soy to get the flavor where I expected. After eating about half, I asked for a carryout, and was quickly given a styrofoam bowl/lid and plastic bag to prevent spillage. Now, I really, really dislike when any place uses styrofoam, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised that they had ANY container large enough for all of the broth that I had left. All in all, one order gave me enough to eat (/drink) for two meals, and it helped hudrate me up and through my hangover. :P I can definitely see myself going back, but I can't see this being a weekly staple for me.

Just tried tripe and tendon for the first time! Would highly recommend getting the summer roll. Place is a hidden gem and offers a very welcoming atmosphere. The proprietor of the establishment came by and was very excited to discuss everything on the menu. Will be returning for sure!

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!! ((((does happy dance)))) Finally, a Vietnamese place with less than a twenty minute drive! No more justification of having to drive across town for my pho fix. Now I just have to take a little jaunt down telegraph to get my pho on. And so I did... Pho Lucky has a limited menu, about 8 pho options, 3 noodle dishes and 2 other entrees. But limited is good. Pho is what they do and they do it well! I opted for a P2. The broth is a-may-zing! Perfectly seasoned, not too beefy (yes, that's a thing) and the beef inside the soup was the perfect tenderness. Soups are available in two sizes, the smaller of the two is more than enough for most people. Of course, the vegetables and herbs served alongside are amazing as well. Somehow, Vietnamese restaurants always have the most freshest veggies, and this place is no exception. Oh the basil..if it was any fresher it would still be growing in the dirt. If you are feeling adventurous and hungry, they offer a pho challenge. You get your soup free if you finish some massive bowl of it. You can take a gander of the winners and loser photos on their back wall. Oh yes! I am happy that Pho Lucky has joined my rotation of Vietnamese restaurants in the metro-D. Amazing pho, nice employees and fresh veggies...lucky me!

I don't know that I can add much to what has already been said but I promised myself I would do good reviews as well rather than always "I'm soo irritated!" reviews. The food was great, wonderful awesome. The people were great,wonderful awesome. I am not really that familiar with Vietnamese food so you may want to take me with a grain of salt~ but the food was truly great. I got the P2 (soup w/ beef) because that seemed to be what everyone on Yelp was talking about and not being familiar w/ Vietnamese I felt I was going in blind. I got it To-Go and they did a great job of explaining how to assemble the soup once you get home & it was as simple as they promised. It was fascinating to watch the raw beef strips become med-rare as the hot broth is poured over them... I LOVED the spring rolls (I got them fried which is probably not authentic but I wanted at least something I was familiar with...) I thought the soup might not be substantial enough but that wasn't a concern..it is really noodles that happen to be getting flavored by the broth as you eat it. I will definitely go back & if you are person who is looking for something different, you should check them out.

This place was good. Having flown in from California earlier in the day, I was craving a nice bowl of noodle soup since the weather was a bit chilly. As usual, I came to Yelp to find a local place in the outer-skirts of Detroit. All I can say is I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is limited nothing like the menus of the Pho Hoa (chaini), etc. from the Northern California area. I dug that the menu was limited. When I crave pho I don't typically need seafood or other stuff people have mentioned. I crave pho, you know thin strips of raw meat, brisket, tripe, tendon, etc. that's what I consider pho. Anyway, give it a shot. I think you'll like it if you're craving pho. Plus the staff is nice.

This is my first review I've written because this place is so good!! The staff were so friendly and showed me exactly how to eat the pho my first time there! The p2 is my favorite. You can make it as spicy as you want by adding siracha. The summer rolls with the hoisin sauce is delicious. And the coffee...seriously the best coffee I have had - so bold and rich! I wish I could stop here for a coffee on my way to work everyday. The owner walks around and tells you how the broth is made and he is super friendly. Give out free tastes of the coffee for new people. Great place!

Holy crap pho on the West side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The horrible justification cycle of "What do I need at Micro Center to help justify driving all the way out to Madison Heights for pho" is finally broken. Yay! Enthusiastic owners greeted people with smiles and conversation. The pho was pretty good if not the greatest but for it's location and price you can't go wrong. Spring Rolls and Vietnamese coffee were had and were pretty tasty as well. Too bad it took a couple of months for this to make it on my radar.

I've never had pho before and have always wanted to try it. Based on a review in the Detroit News I decided to try Pho Lucky as my first pho experience. I ordered P4 on the menu, basically pho with three kinds of meat and no tendon or tripe. I didn't want to be too adventurous on my first try! Our orders arrived quickly, mine was piping hot. A separate dish of sprouts, jalapenos and greens was provided to add to the pho as we liked. I like spicy and hot foods but I tasted it as-delivered and was very pleased with the lime and basil flavors. Very tasty. I finished the whole bowl and the waitress jokingly remarked "good, we won't need to wash this dish!" The restaurant is small, perhaps 10 tables. Very clean and well kept with a modern, neutral decor. The tables were well-outfitted with utensils, spices, napkins and so on, everything I assume a customer would want without having to ask special. The owner was visible and approachable, answering questions and keeping the atmosphere light and fun by gently chiding rookies like me on how to properly eat pho. Likewise, the waitresses were good-humored and joking around. Everyone was more than willing and happy to answer questions about ingredients, pronunciation and anything else we could come up with. When we got there at 11:30 it was essentially empty but by noon it got quite busy with every table filling up with hungry folks. All in all, a really great, tasty lunch for $7.50 + tip and I will definitely be back for more. Note: as Pho Lucky is my first pho experience, I am rating this at 4 stars since I have nothing to use as a comparison. It could easily be a 5-star experience but without tasting pho at other restaurants I can't really say. I just know that I enjoyed it very much and will be back.

Boy am I glad you guys posted reviews to this place. I'd given up finding pho in the area. I'm not an expert by any means. I've only had pho a handful of times but I loved it so much I get cravings. So far for me, this has been the best. The place is clean, incredibly friendly and reasonably priced. Hint: start with the regular size bowl ($7.50). I'm a pretty big eater, but I can't imagine finishing the large ($9:00). Don't add the fish sauce without tasting-I found the broth to be well-seasoned. They're very generous with the sprouts, peppers and basil as well. Also, the place seats about 40 on 10 or so tables, but when I left after lunch today it was getting quite busy and they were scrambling a little to keep tables open. Looks like it might be a hit. Now if they only had beer....

Simply great. I am Italian and I am extremely demanding concerning restaurant. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I found in US. The Menu is small (as it should be in every good restaurant) which is good because everything is made with perfection. The ingredient are fresh which makes the dishes incredibly testy and simple. This is a family owned business which is another good point. The owner is great and friendly and he always find the time to explain the menu and to make suggestions. What else? Just go there and taste it!

The waitress was such a sweet heart! Brought me some cooked sprouts when she saw me eating them on the side like I usually do. I eat a lot of pho in LA and this would replace my local spot in a minute. Since it's my only time here, I might have truly been lucky. The broth is neither watery, too salty, or oily. Thick slices of meat. I promise, you don't get that much meat anywhere that I've been. I'm so-so on the tendon but I'm picky about it anyway. Really good experience.

Good food and I really life what they have done with the facility. I knew the previous owner and you can't even tell that it used to be a bakery. the menu didn't have as large a selection as other Pho restaurants I've been to in Denver or Windsor, but it's an excellent start. I think this is the only Pho in Detroit (or at the border at least), so that's definitely a plus.

'Lucky' is putting it a bit mildly. I am ecstatic to have a good, quaint pho joint in the area. The shrimp rolls are fresh and splendid. The beef pho is so very good. I even tried the durian shake...people think durian tastes 'gross'? Really? I thought it was great! I'm a regular and I get the same order every time. Yes, I am feeling lucky!

I highly recommend the B1 - BÃºn Tht Nng/GÃ Nng with pork. We were ecstatic to find a Vietnamese restaurant so close to home. The food was fresh and flavorful. The pork had a delicious marinated flavor and the serving size is very generous. We are really looking forward to going back there soon!

Finally got out to the west side to try pho lucky and it did not disappoint! The pho was beefy and delicious. I really like the cleanliness and roominess of the restaurant, as opposed to some of its Madison heights counterparts. And as you may of read in previous reviews, the owner and staff are indeed super friendly and helpful. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Fantastic pho, friendly staff for one of the best deals in NW Detroit area. Portions are huge, but it's worth ordering a large to take home leftover pho. a delicious bowl of beef broth, noodles and more hits the spot on a cold day. It is sorta small, and i hope they will grow into a better space someday.

I feel Pho Lucky and happy to have found this restaurant!! I've tried numerous Vietnamese restaurants and their pho broth is one of the best I've tasted. It's better than the ones in Madison Height, in my opinion. Their fried spring rolls are also excellent! I like their simple menu and friendly and personable staff and owner as well. Very good! I had Pho for the first time out on in San Jose, CA. I was blown away that a SOUP could taste that good. Anyway, I immediately attempted to make Pho at home, and to no avail. I simply could not re-create it. Anyway, I came across Pho-Lucky, here on Yelp, and the rest is history. I do think that this is priced a bit high, but it is all the way good quality. Servings are a good size. I overheard some people in there, saying that they have driven from Armada to get that Pho! That's a BIG commitment, but nevertheless, I was in the neighborhood, and I absolutely LOVED it!

Brilliant!! Absolutely amongst the best Pho I have had. The broth is spot on and the meat was the best I've had anywhere, period. Don't expect a lot of Vietnamese "food" - this is a Pho place with a couple of non-Pho options. Keep that in mind and you won't be disappointed! So happy to have found this place!!!

I happened on this place completely by chance, going up Telegraph. I can't say enough. The pho is absolutely sublime. Their other dishes are awesome too but... why not get the pho? It's life-changing! The staff is warm and wonderful. They knew my name after the first time I went there (I've been four times since and it hasn't even been a week). It's affordable and all but I'd pay twice the price. The pho is absolutely the best thing I've had in years. I'll be back here as often as possible. Just wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Finally!!! This pho is really good. I ordered two yesterday for the first time and it met and exceeded my expectations. The broth is spot on, the aroma is a welcoming prelude to the amazing flavor and taste that this pho offers. The location is very clean, management is friendly, and they have a great pho!! I love this place. I've been coming here since they've been open. It's close to my home, and the food is great. The owner is very proud of his soup and you can tell by how he keeps talking about it taking 9 hrs to make. I come here almost once a week. They have this super bowl pho challenge for $20 right now. This is the closest place from us that serves decent pho! Both my husband and I were very excited when we found this place on yelp, and we finally went to try it today. It's still quite a distance, but at least, it's closer than going to Madison Heights, and much better than pho in Ann Arbor area. We had the basic pho: my husband the number 1, and I had the one with cooked beef and meat balls. He had the extra large, and I just had the regular size. The price is reasonable, and the extra large is actually pretty sizable! The soup is light and flavourful, and not greasy. Compared to pho at Thuy Trang in Madison Heights, the portion (even the regular) seemed much more generous, and the soup is less greasy. We also had the egg rolls, which was not bad. The portion was small (2 egg rolls per order, for $3), but reasonably priced. The only down side of this place is the variety of menu. They only offer the very very basic of Vietnamese cuisine: spring rolls, egg rolls, pho, a couple of broken rice dishes, and a couple of bun dishes, plus Vietnamese coffee. If they expand their menu and include, for example, bun rieu, bun Bo hue, Banh Mi, etc, then they definitely get a 5-star rating from me! The owner and the waitresses are all very nice, friendly and courteous, and the owner talks to everyone. He said the place has been opened for only 3 months, but it seemed to be quite busy. There were only 10 tables or so, and people kept coming in, and the place was almost full for most of our stay. The parking is pretty limited, but the turnover rate is pretty high, so that shouldn't be an issue. They have a pho challenge, where for $20, you get HUGE bowl of pho, and if you finish it, your meal is free, and you get to have your picture on the wall (even if you fail, your picture will be displayed under the "failure" pictures!). The owner said that extra extra huge bowl of pho is about 3 times the extra large bowl! Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meal, and we'll definitely be back!

Well, for a Vietnamese fix, this place will work, but the Pho broth was definitely flat. All the notes were there, but didn't have the richness that a good bowl will have. Rolls were pretty good, rice dishes were tasty too.
